How many times have you found yourself in a situation where you feel you are not progressing enough? Did you ever feel you could progress more than you did so far? Did this sort of question ever arise in your heart ?
Desiring to help people understand the Vedas and make it accessible to everyone, Srila Vyasadev divided one Veda into four.
Although he did this great work he still felt dissatisfied in the heart.
When our life is based around service to others then challenges that we encounter don’t affect us as much as they do when we are only thinking about ourselves .
To not have time to think about ourselves is the sign of a real servant.
Giving the life to serve and help other people is the mood of a devotee. Advanced devotees are always aspiring to be servant of the servant of the servant.
Devotees are ready to give their life to serve others but not whimsically. They are carefully following the path given by Spiritual Masters to make sure the service they offer will spiritually benefit humanity and help them to realise the Absolute truth.
When we serve and help others we naturally become open to grow ourselves. In fact, when we help others spiritually grow, we automatically grow ourselves.
What you give that’s what you get, more you give more you get.
Devotes of the Lord are in constant bliss because they are constantly giving and because of that service attitude they are receiving so much more from the Lord .
Srila Vyasadev did his service with the mood to help the society to spiritually advance and therefore he received guidance from Narada Muni who appeared and gave him instructions on how to perform his service in a better way.
Whilst receiving instructions on how to perform his service in a better way he also received important instructions on how to practice his own spiritual life .
For a devotee who is giving his full heart to bring others to Krishna will always be protected by the Lord and special mercy will be always given to such a devotee .
Real realisations come from devotional service .
Measure your eagerness for spiritual advancement by how much you are endeavouring to serve others and bring them closer to Krishna.
