Everyone is looking for love and relationships. Srila Prabhupada writes in his books how happiness without engaging in the service of the Supreme is impossible. The happiness that we experience outside devotional service is only the shadow of real happiness.

The joy that we experience whilst practicing devotional service cannot be compared with anything in this world.

Devotees of the Lord are therefore very attached to devotional service to the Lord because it brings them to the stage of constant bliss, happiness and qualifies them to experience the presence of the Lord.

In the Bhavagat Gita Krishna promises that he will provide everything that his devotee requires if his devotee worships him with a full heart.

BG 9.22-But those who always worship Me with exclusive devotion, meditating on My transcendental form – to them I carry what they lack, and I preserve what they have.

For me, that is the most inspiring verse in the Bhagavat Gita. If we carefully study that verse we will realize how personal Lord is. The Lord is not interested when someone chants many mantras, performs great austerities or reads many scriptures. The Lord becomes very pleased with the devotee who simply wants to serve Him and have a relationship with Him.

This is the most confidential knowledge which is carefully hidden from mental speculators and those looking for mystic perfections. Only devotees have access to this knowledge and even among devotees , only those who develop the right mood and attitude in the service can experience and understand the true meaning of that verse.

Devotee means one who is devoted to Krishna.

If you still haven’t experienced Krishna magic or still lack faith that the Lord will protect you in all circumstances then ask yourself a question;

Am I serving Krishna to be myself happy or am I serving Krishna to make Him happy?

Answer to that question will also provide reason why you are not advancing in the spiritual life.
