Mayapur sadhus

Mensaje de SS Jayapataka Swami acerca del Navadvip Mandal ...

Spiritual life is full of magic and sincere devotees will be allowed by Krishna to experience things beyond their capacity to help them to make further spiritual progress.

To experience this magic devotees are recommended to sincerely chant Harinam whilst at the same time trying to live life in the mode of goodness.

Favourite part of my Mayapur trip is morning program in the temple. For trained eye and ear there is so much nectar that can be collected in this period from 4:30-9:00am.

There are many things that I appreciate in the temple morning program but my favourite part is to observe sadhus and their offerings of devotion to the Lord.

Simply by observing how sadhus are offering their heart to the Lord, we gain precious experience and our heart also gets purified.

Every day whilst doing parikrama around the temple room I notice one sadhu standing by the doors of the temple and offering camara to Lord Nrismha . By material measurement there is no chance that by doing camara from a distance of 10 meters there can be any benefit to the person who is getting fanned but this rule doesn’t apply in bhakti yoga.

This sadhu is offering camara which is charged with devotion which comes directly from the heart and with the mood to please the Lord.

How could Lord not accept such an offering.?!

After passing next to the sadhu with camara daily I notice another sadhu who comes every day at the same time and takes ghee lamp that was offered to the Lord and distributes it around to the pilgrims. He does this service with such dedication and makes sure that everyone gets the mercy. Although old and weak he still comes every day and does this service with such sincerity. He even puts a mask on the face so smoke doesn’t affect him so he can do his service nicely for the pleasure of all Vaisnavas. .

Sign of deep spiritual insight and spiritual advancement is steadiness and devotion in the service to the Lord.

Pure devotees of the Lord are trying very hard to hide their spiritual advancement but their devotion to the Lord does not allow them to keep it hidden because this is how Krishna glorifies his devotees, by revealing their devotion for Him.

Rig Veda 1.22.20-“Just as the sun’s rays in the sky are extended to the mundane vision, so in the same way the wise and learned devotees always see the supreme abode of Lord Vishnu. Because those highly praiseworthy and spiritually awake brahmanas are able to see the spiritual world, they are also able to reveal that supreme abode of Lord Vishnu.”
